Checkout Policy

Students at Bloomfield Middle School are encouraged to make use of the resources/materials found in the Library Media Center.

Books - Students may check out two (2) books for a period of two (2) weeks.  It is possible to check out a third book if it needed for a class, such as a research project, etc.  If a student wishes to check out a book that is labeled Young Adult (YA), written permission must be obtained from the parent/guardian.  Permission slips are available in the Circulation Desk.

Magazines - Students may checkout one (1) magazine at a time for a period of three (3) days.  Magazines are to be checked out in an envelope and must be returned in that envelope.

Videos - BMS has a very limited selection of videos, both VHS and DVD.  The majority of the video collection is rated PG, with a few exceptions being PG-13.  A student needs to have written permission from a parent/guardian to check out a video.  Permission slips are available on the Circulation Desk.  When permission is received, then students may check out the video for three (3) days.

Overdue Policy

When a book/video/magazine has been determined to be "overdue" the student will be notified verbally when he/she checks out, or via written notice.  Notices of "Overdue" will be given out by the end of each quarter.  Students should make every effort to return materials in a timely manner.
